Southwestern Macaroni Recipe

2 tablespoons soft butter
2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups Cheddar or Monterey jack cheese, cubed
2 cups dry, uncooked macaroni
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon mustard
2 tablespoons green chiles, chopped
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients except butter and bread crumbs. Put into a casserole. Sprinkle with crumbs mixed with butter. Bake 40 to 50 minutes.


Apple-Barbecue Spareribs Recipe

3 1/2 pounds spareribs
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup applesauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Cut ribs into serving-size pieces; place meaty side down in a large shallow pan. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over ribs. Cover and marinate in refrigerator 2 hours.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. Uncover, turn ribs over, and bake, uncovered, an additional 30 minutes, basting frequently.

Yields 3 to 4 servings.
